The Planet Cup was introduced in 2003 as a season-long series recognizing excellence in J 456 racers and will continue again this year.

Standings will be kept for SL, GS, and the Combined (K) by place points.  

The Region 1 board have determined that the best 50% of the races will be counted towards each of the discipline standings.

In the 2009 - 10 series there will be 9 GS and 11 SL Planet cup races making 20 races in total. So this year the best 5 out of 9 GS races and 6 out of 11 SL races will determine the season's standings.

Applying the same ratios on all the races that count for the Combined we have 20 races thus the best 10 out of 20 races will be taken as the Combined standing.

All Planet Cup competitors must be members of USSA and Region 1 to receive Planet Cup Points.

Planet Cup races will be Dec.12-13 at Afton, Jan. 2-3 at Spirit, Jan.9-10 at LaCrosse, Jan 23-24 at Giants Ridge, Feb 13 at Afton.

Planet Cup trophies will be awarded on Sunday 14th February.

The Afton race on 14th Feb is the J456 Championship race. Seperate registration is required (see home page for link).

The races on Mar 6-7 at Welch and Mar 13-14 at Wild Mountain are not part of the Planet Cup.

The SL races at Buck Hill Jan 18 will not be scored for the Planet Cup.
